Malta

Located in the Mediterranean Sea, just south of Sicily, the Maltese archipelago basically consists of three islands: Malta , Gozo and Comino. Their total population in 2003 was 399,867.

The largest island of the group is Malta  from which the archipelago takes its name..See the map

Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Malta and Gozo. Conditions are perfect between Easter and mid-June, when the weather is pleasantly warm, but not too hot; beaches and resorts are relatively un crowded, and accommodation is cheaper and easier to find than in the high season (mid-June to end-August).

Malta has beaches for everyone, from windsurfers to sun loungers. Choose from golden sand, red sand, rocks, blue lagoons and even inland seas.

There are easy access, family beaches, rocky inlets ideal for snorkellers and beach sunsets for twilight swimmers

From the hothouse of clubs to cool, romantic courtyards, Malta at night has moods for all.
The Islands have a vibrant calendar of theatre and concerts, classical and modern.
Many are held outdoors or in historic venues.
